This lesson discusses God’s vision for friendship:
1)Friendship with God
3)Being a Friend
This is a textual lesson from Paul’s first letter to the church in Corinth (1 Corinthians 3:1-10). Paul is correcting some false perceptions about being spiritual and also some false views about God’s servants, specifically those that had been working among the church in Corinth (Paul, Apollos, etc). The church needed to be reminded that spiritual people must also act spiritual (not with rivalries and contentions). They also needed to be reminded that their teachers were just servants of God and not to be praised. Using a farming analogy, Paul points out that God owns the land, the workers, and the crop that is produced.
